Imbolc
February 1st
Also known as Candlemas, St Brigid's Day, Groundhog day,
Imbolc ( IMM Bolk) is dedicated to the Goddess Brigid and is the first of the fire festivals. It is linked to when the sheep would first begin to produce milk for the year and that is tied to the symbolism of the Goddess nourishing us.
The Goddess Brigid is an Irish Goddess of Spring, fire, healing, poetry, and fertility.
While not quite yet the bursting growth of spring, we are now seeing the small whispered hint of light from Winter Solstice blossoming into a small flame. It is our time to nourish and grow the flames.
This is the time of infancy, of childhood. Innocence, fun, and growth abound.
Imbolc is also the perfect time for a spring cleaning and spiritual cleansing as well. Clean off your altar, recharge, and cleanse your ritual tools.
It is also a time for initiation or to rededicate oneself.
As the wheel turns...
At the beginning of Samhain, we saw our potential ahead of us as we left the past behind. At Winter's Solstice, we hoped and trusted in the spark of light that we wished to grow into. And now that little spark is growing!

How to celebrate as a Dianic...
I like to use this time to rededicate myself to my path and to my chosen Goddesses.
I first take a ritual bath, then naked or in white, I cleanse all of my altar, my tools, my space. Making sure to consecrate and bless each. I like to also save moon water from the closest full moon before for this and to also use it in my bath.
I also plan projects out that I want to work on and continue with an emphasis on how I can make them come to life or grow. The resolutions/goal I made during the Winter Solstice, I check back in with here.
I bake a cake as a sort of celebration for my dedication
