The Roots

This site's birth was August 5th 2025 but was a long time in the womb! I kept blogs for many years before this as well as some online groups and forums. But I really wanted to devote my energy into creating a space for the solitary Dianic witch to call home and start her journey!

There is a very heavy focus on groups within Dianic/Goddess only witchcraft. Which is great and amazing! But it can also make it feel quite lonely for those of us without a group. By far most of the sites and books I have read were focused on group work. So you are always having to try and edit things to fit a solitary witch or try and figure out what you can do without a group, and that can be frustrating. 

I live in a small town for one thing, and I have social anxiety and it's very difficult for me to be in a social setting. There are no women only Goddess groups around me. The VERY FEW pagan groups are not really the energy I am looking for, and still not Goddess only focused and I don't feel comfortable being in a group where they are worshipping in a different way than me, just like I wouldn't attend a Christian church just to be more social.​

I am a solitary witch, I enjoy worshipping solo as well. I find it to be a private and personal connection and I don't need a group for that. Our paths are unique to us, what works for one may not work for another. Some love, need, and flourish in groups... others prefer to be more solitary or at least more so. Do what works for you! Other people just may be unable to find a group yet and are looking for solo work until they find one to call home.

Just a little splash of info about me.

I am a Virgo, born September 22, which means my birthday often falls on the Autumn Equinox, and that probably explains why I so love Autumn and one of the many reasons I was drawn to Persephone, who rules that Sabbat.​

I am over 40 and became a pagan witch at around 16/17 years old!

She/Her. I am a bisexual cisgender woman. I am married, no children. ​

We have a plethora of pets sharing our life!

Far too many cats. I love all animals but cats are the most perfect creatures and if I could only keep one pet it would be a cat always. We also have three dogs - a chihuahua/poodle mix named Trixie, after a My Little Pony, a Standard Poodle named Yuki, and a Siberian Husky named Zero.​ I also breed pet rats, you can check out my website www.onceuponamischief.com

Besides breeding rats, I love to write! I'd love to write a novel someday. I mostly write short horror stories on reddits /nosleep. I also have a short story published in an all-women horror anthology, which is called Daughter's of Darkness and you can buy it on Amazon if you would like! My story is called I'm Sorry. If you read it I'd love to hear your thoughts!
I do love horror. I read horror, listen to the nosleep and similar podcasts, I love horror/thriller movies.  I love to be frightened. 

I am bipolar and have a severe anxiety disorder with social anxiety, PTSD, and agoraphobia. It is a struggle. My relationship with the Goddess and witchcraft definitely has helped. I also have PCOS (poly-cycstic ovarian Syndrome) which creates havoc on my body, blood glucose, hormones, periods, and fertility. Which can be rough when following a Goddess/feminine religion.​

I am originally from beautiful Colorado but now live in Western New York state in a smaller town on Lake Erie.
